We set up our surfing schedule the day before to get the most accurate forecast.
The times that we surf in the morning and afternoon depend on the tides, conditions, and levels of our surfers.
That varies each day, please refer to the weekly schedule.
Our surf camp packages start any day of the week. We have a minimum 3-night stay and we also offer weekly discounts for full-week bookings (8 nights).
We always provide 1 instructor per 2 students. People who book a surf lesson are never included in the same group as people who book a surf camp package.
We will always group people with a similar skill level to you so you will always be surfing waves suitable for your level.
The check-in and check-out times are as follows:
We have a store area where we can keep your luggage safe prior to check-in and after check-out if you wish.
No this is not included in the price, but we do have bikes that we can rent you for 60k idr for 1 day.
Compared to Bali, Lombok remains less developed, translating to fewer crowds and traffic. Embrace the serenity of its uncrowded roads and discover a paradise adorned with endless stretches of pristine white sandy beaches, breathtaking vistas, and top-notch dining spots. If your heart longs for unspoiled nature and a relaxed atmosphere, Lombok beckons with open arms.
You can surf in Lombok all year round but the best time is between November and April. If you are not planning on surfing then the best time to visit is in March/April after rainy season when the land is green and lush.
The rainy season is between November and April with January being the wettest month.
It usually rains heavily at night or in the evenings for 1-2 hours.
Money is easy to exchange in Lombok. In Kuta, there are several ATMs where you can easily get cash. Check with your bank if you can withdraw money with your card in Asia before you leave.
Lombok boasts a classic subtropical climate, characterized by alternating rainy and dry seasons. Expect balmy temperatures ranging from 27 to 30°C throughout the year. The rainy season typically rolls in around November, sticking around till April. December through February witness the heaviest rainfall, often punctuated by intense rainstorms. Despite the humidity, the rainy season offers prime surfing conditions with minimal wind interference.
Come May, the dry season takes center stage, lasting through October. Enjoy a respite from the humidity as cooler, less muggy days prevail. However, brace yourself for potentially gusty winds, particularly in the peak months of July and August.
We have good WiFi (20mbps) at Surf Camp 79 but as we are a small island there are times when it may not work. Please ask the staff for the password on your arrival.
The voltage is 230 volts and the plugs are similar to those in Europe (2-pin).
Bahasa Indonesia is the official language in Indonesia, however people of Lombok (Sasak people) also speak their local language ‘Sasak’. The Sasak language is different in the north to the south of the island.
All our staff speak very good English.
Lombok carries a very low risk. The big cities are even free of malaria. Nevertheless, you should generally protect yourself from mosquito bites, because dengue is also transmitted by (diurnal) mosquitoes. You can buy repellent sprays and lotions everywhere in Lombok and they work well.
Lombok, a nature-rich island, teems with diverse wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for geckos, spiders, frogs, scorpions, and occasional slender snakes. Perched atop hills and surrounded by verdant fields, encounters with wildlife are par for the course—yes, even ants may make an appearance!
Be mindful of the packs of wild dogs that roam the area. Fortunately, Kuta Lombok Dogs spearheads a commendable sterilization program to control their population. If you chance upon seemingly abandoned puppies, resist the urge to relocate them, as their mother may have ventured out in search of sustenance. Let's ensure harmony between humans and nature.
